CORPUS CHRISTI — Information that a man wanted for murder was hiding in a Corpus Christi home led to a raid and the arrest of four people on felony drug and weapon charges.
U.S. Marshals and Corpus Christi police’s SWAT team executed a search warrant on Monday at Sue Farenthold’s home in the 5000 block of Cape Romain Drive. Farenthold, the sister of U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Corpus Christi, and three men were arrested.
An informant told police that Jose Alfredo Moreno, 29, was hiding in the home, according to an affidavit for the search warrant. Moreno is wanted in Nueces County on suspicion of murder for the June 29 killing of 41-year-old Jose Moreno. The two men share the same first and last name.
Jose Moreno was shot in the head and chest after an argument while playing pool at a bar in the 4300 block of Ayers Street, police said.
Jose Alfredo Moreno was not at the Cape Romain Drive home and police continue to search for him. The police department identifies Moreno as a known gang member, according to the search warrant affidavit.
